VELA is a Lineage II Essence project centered on multiclass character building and repeated progression. A character keeps its original class while learning selected abilities from other classes and races through a Skill Library. These purchases use skill points and adena, with additional requirements for advanced skills. Weapon conditions and stacking restrictions still apply, so acquiring similar abilities does not automatically combine all their effects.

Rebirth returns a level-85 character to level 20 while preserving its class and learned skills. Each cycle awards a point for a permanent bonus, giving players another way to develop the same hero. The published system has no overall or daily rebirth cap, although later progression adds resource and activity requirements. Equipment tiers form a separate progression track rather than representing a character’s rebirth count.

PvE activities include the Tower of Trials, raids and designated farming areas. Competitive options include a one-on-one arena, Guild Battle, team events and sieges of Giran and Gludio. The in-game Vela menu gathers systems and event information, while official guides explain skill choices, equipment and progression for solo players, groups and clans.
