Lunar Dominion is a customized Lineage 2 Interlude project focused on low-rate PvE. Its published x1 configuration adds three prominent systems to familiar leveling and equipment progression: server-controlled NPC adventurers, monster taming and hireable mercenaries. These additions provide companions and other participants in the game world without presenting them as human players.

NPC adventurers level, form groups, hunt and take part in trading and crafting. The taming system lets players develop monsters as pets, with feeding, creature abilities and a market for collars. Mercenaries include a tank, healer and spoiler; the guide states that their owner retains the experience and loot from their hunts.

The current configuration also describes daily quests, achievement rewards, crafting experience and player-sold buffs. An optional Hardcore mode offers higher rates with separate restrictions and a level reset on death. Team versus Team and Last Man add scheduled competitive activities alongside PvE.
